Dr. Julio Olaya
Julio Olaya, MD, is a board-certified anesthesiologist specializing in pain medicine and spine intervention procedures at Pain Medicine Specialists of Arkansas (PMSA) located in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Originally from Mexico, Dr. Olaya completed a medical degree from La Salle University in 1986 and was the sports medicine doctor for the Mexican Tennis Federation from 1990 to 1993. He completed his anesthesiology residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) in 2003 before joining the UAMS/ACH faculty in 2004.
From 2004 to 2012, Dr. Olaya was an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at the UAMS College of Medicine, and an Attending Pediatric Anesthesiologist at Arkansas Children’s Hospital. From 2013 to 2015 he was an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology and Critical Care at Saint Louis University School of Medicine.
From 2016 to 2017, Dr. Olaya worked in the field of pain management at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Missouri. After that, he worked at Arkansas Spine and Pain in Little Rock from 2017 to 2021. In 2022 he started his own practice at Pain Medicine Specialists of Arkansas in Little Rock.
